Gardening for Resilience
In an era of mass globalization, few wild spaces are unaffected by human activity. More than ever, preserving the function and quality of native prairies, forests, and wetlands requires human intervention. All of which begs the question: what happens when we stop thinking of nature as pristine preserves which need to be conserved, and started treating them more like gardens which require stewardship and creative management? Join landscape architect Thomas Rainer, author of Planting in a Post-Wild World, to explore these questions as well as strategies we can take in our own gardens to create more resilient, biodiverse, and beautiful plantings.
